One of the first large ensembles recordings of the family, send to me directly by Ernesto. Apparently, in addition to free improvisation, L'Ensemble Instable interprets compositions of Bruno Duplant, who also plays an organ. The music belongs also to the free minimalism genre, but is different from the typical output of Rodrigues family: there is a wonderful combination of winds and string, with Pablo and Bruno playing the principal role on the winds side. Organ add a psychedelic touch and... a kind of spirit of ancient music. There is only one 42 minutes long track, but it is fragmented into shorter pieces. Very beautiful music, meditative and reflexive, yet very emotional and expressive. Maciej Lewenstein |
