After
several years of training (notably with Jean-François Jenny-Clark),
he was exposed to free jazz through individuals like Jobic Lemasson, Arnaud
Sacase (Septentrion, Marge, 2004), and through performing with numerous
american visiting artists. He then moved towards free improv and has built
a solid reputation playing with Edward Perraud, Jean-Luc Guionnet (their
group, The Fish, should release its debut album on Ayler records), Didier
Lasserre... Duboc's main preoccupation is to expand the possibilities
of improvisation through varying contexts, therefore adjoining to his
own idiom other artforms.
