Adriana Sá

Lisbon, Portugal · zither, electronics, visual sound & transdisciplinary performance

Adriana Sá is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist, performer-composer and researcher whose work connects sound, visual perception, movement and installation. Following studies in fine arts at the University of Lisbon, she began developing instruments and performances that combine acoustic materials, sensors and digital processes.

She has created custom zithers and interfaces that use pitch information to shape visual and spatial musical experiences. Her graphic scores also explore how musical textures can be represented without fixing every aspect of performance. Creative Sources documents her work within the broader experimental-music community, reflecting an artistic practice in which the design of an instrument becomes part of composing.
