Adam Pultz Melbye

Adam Pultz Melbye is a Danish double bassist, composer, improviser and researcher based in Berlin. His artistic work connects acoustic music with electronics, sound installation, instrument building and the exploration of feedback systems.

He holds a practice-led PhD in music technology from Queen's University Belfast, where his research included the feedback-actuated augmented bass, an instrument exploring the relationship between an acoustic resonator and responsive technology. He has performed internationally and created work for dance, theatre, film and multimedia projects. Creative Sources recordings including CS358 and CS535 document his double-bass performance in different experimental ensemble settings.
