Alex Reviriego

Alex Reviriego is a Barcelona-based double bassist, improviser and composer active in experimental music, free improvisation and contemporary composition. His musical approach explores the acoustic bass through extended bowing, varied string articulations and close attention to the physical qualities of sound.

He has worked across small ensembles, large improvising groups and collaborations with musicians and visual or performing artists. His Creative Sources recordings document the double bass as an independent voice within collective sound research rather than a conventional rhythmic accompaniment. His projects bring together spontaneous decisions, subtle textures and the contrast between acoustic resonance and more forceful musical gestures.
