Carla Santana

Carla Santana is an electronic musician and improviser whose work is extensively documented by Creative Sources. She performs with electronics and synthesisers, contributing live-generated and processed sounds to acoustic and electroacoustic ensembles built around spontaneous musical interaction.

Her presence spans at least twelve releases, including CS494, CS519, CS536, CS609, CS612 and CS636, connecting her work to different combinations of improvising musicians. Electronic instruments offer sustained tones, noise, rhythmic fragments and changing textures that can respond directly to strings, brass and percussion. These repeated recordings show an ongoing engagement with collective sonic exploration and experimental performance.
