Cecilia Quinteros

Cecilia Quinteros is a cellist documented on Mokita (CS529), a Creative Sources recording in a quartet with saxophonist Christoph Gallio, guitarist Alex Elgier and drummer Marcelo von Schultz. Her cello contributes a bowed-string voice to an ensemble working with freely improvised music.

The combination of cello, saxophone, guitar and drums creates a flexible range of resonance, attack and register. Quinteros's performance interacts with the quartet's changing sonic materials rather than following a fixed arrangement, exploring the relationship between sustained string sound and more percussive gestures. A wider independent biography has not yet been securely established from public sources.
