Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø

Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø is a Norwegian trombonist and sound artist based between Trondheim and Berlin. His work explores the physicality of acoustic and amplified brass instruments through breath, pressure, microphone techniques, analogue electronics and close attention to resonance.

His projects include BEAM SPLITTER with Audrey Chen, the new-music ensemble Aksiom and the group Skadedyr. His solo recordings include Solo on Creative Sources and Faint Light Blackens, released in 2026. Through international performances and collaborations, he has developed an approach in which very quiet sounds, strong amplification and demanding physical gestures become parts of a unified musical practice.
