João Camões

João Camões is a Portuguese violist and improviser. Classically trained in Coimbra, he later became closely involved with Lisbon’s free-improvisation scene.

His work uses a physical and exploratory approach to the viola, combining classical instrumental technique with extended and freely improvised playing.
