João Pinto

João Pinto is an electronic musician credited with computer performance on Stills (CS100), a recording by the Variable Geometry Orchestra directed by Ernesto Rodrigues. His contribution brings computer-generated or computer-processed sound into a large improvising group with strings, winds, brass and percussion.

Stills is part of the Lisbon ensemble's exploration of collective music created during performance. Electronic sound participates alongside acoustic instruments in changing densities and relationships, with computer processing offering an additional range of timbres and gestures.
