Kurt Liedwart

Kurt Liedwart is an electronic musician, producer, improviser and record-label founder whose work moves between experimental electronics, electroacoustic sound, ambient and techno. Since the 1990s he has explored both rhythm-based production and sound-oriented improvisation, often working with computers, field recordings and software systems.

In 2008 he founded Mikroton Recordings, later developing related imprints and releasing music by an international network of experimental artists. His collaborations include work with saxophonist Ilia Belorukov. Creative Sources documents his laptop-based improvisation on CS424 and CS428, extending a practice that connects performance, composition and independent music publishing.
