Miriam Akkermann

Miriam Akkermann is a musicologist and sound artist whose artistic work includes flute and live electronics, sound art, contemporary improvisation and composition.

She studied flute and Music and New Technologies in Bolzano as well as audio communication and composition in Berlin. Her research focuses on twentieth- and twenty-first-century music, computer music, music technology and performance practice; since 2026 she has been Professor of Systematic Musicology at TU Dortmund.
