Mark O'Leary

Mark O'Leary is an Irish guitarist and composer from Cork whose work spans free jazz, contemporary improvisation, electronics and sound design. Largely self-taught in his early years, he later studied at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and developed an international recording and performing career.

He has collaborated with Paul Bley, Tomasz Stańko, Paul Motian, Joey Baron, Steve Swallow and many other creative musicians. His recordings move from acoustic guitar trios to electronically shaped soundscapes. Creative Sources includes his work within a catalogue dedicated to the many forms of experimental and freely improvised music.
