Mathias Pontévia

Mathias Pontévia is a French percussionist and improviser associated with Bordeaux's experimental music scene. His performance practice uses drums, cymbals, gongs, metal objects and self-assembled instrumental setups to create an expansive range of sound, from delicate friction to forceful rhythmic energy.

His projects combine solo performance with collaborations that emphasise the material qualities of percussion and the physical act of sound-making.
