Marco Scarassatti

Marco Scarassatti is a Brazilian sound artist, composer, improviser and educator born in Campinas in 1971. He constructs sound sculptures and installations, makes field recordings and develops work inspired by instrument building, acoustic objects and the legacy of Brazilian experimental music.

His research includes work on Walter Smetak and the relationship between sculpture, experimental instruments and performance. He has presented sound installations and improvisational projects in Brazil and Europe, including work with the Sonax ensemble. Creative Sources documents his music as part of a practice in which artistic research, material construction and the sonic imagination continually meet.
