Marc Ramírez

Marc Ramírez is a double bassist represented across several Creative Sources releases, including CS446, CS448, CS500, CS519 and CS536. His recordings place the acoustic bass within ensembles concerned with open musical forms, collective interaction and the changing textures of improvised music.

Through bowed, plucked and percussive techniques, the double bass can act as a source of melodic ideas, low-frequency resonance and rhythmic articulation. Ramírez's repeated appearances on the label document a continuing involvement with this kind of ensemble performance. Available independent sources do not establish enough detail for a broader professional biography, so this note remains focused on the verified recordings.
