Marcelo Von Schultz

Marcelo von Schultz is a drummer and percussionist credited in the Creative Sources catalogue for work in experimental improvisation. His playing appears on Mokita (CS529), an acoustic quartet with saxophonist Christoph Gallio, cellist Cecilia Quinteros and guitarist Alex Elgier.

The quartet brings together four instrumental voices with different ranges, resonances and approaches to rhythm. Drums provide the possibility of both forceful attacks and subtle textural gestures, entering into musical dialogue with reeds, strings and guitar. The recording documents von Schultz's contribution to a freely developing ensemble form. Additional independent details about his career and musical training remain limited.
