Nuno Morão
Nuno Morão is a Portuguese percussionist associated with Lisbon's experimental and improvised-music scene. He works with percussion as a source of sound colour and form, bringing together rhythmic material, small gestures, resonance and close collective listening.
His appearances in Creative Sources' catalogue situate him in the network of musicians involved in the city's acoustic and electroacoustic improvisation projects. In these settings percussion is not limited to timekeeping but becomes an independent musical voice, responding to strings, reeds and other sound sources. His work reflects an interest in ensemble interaction and spontaneous construction.
