Paulo Curado
Paulo Curado (1960–2024) was a Portuguese flutist, saxophonist, composer and improviser whose work was central to several strands of Portuguese jazz and improvised music from the 1990s onward.
He developed his own approaches to composition and improvisation through the Paulo Curado Trio and later worked with Lisbon Improvisation Players, Improvisers Consort, Variable Geometry Orchestra and the Chagas / Curado / Viegas Wind Trio. His work remains documented across recordings on Clean Feed, Creative Sources and other labels.
