Phillip Marks

Phillip Marks is a percussionist working in freely improvised music, participating in acoustic and electroacoustic ensembles where rhythm and sound texture develop through collective interaction.

His performance appears on Livingry (CS885), recorded live at Hundred Years Gallery in London in October 2025 and issued by Creative Sources in 2026. The quartet brings together Marks on percussion, Lawrence Casserley on a signal-processing instrument, Dominic Lash on double bass and electric guitar, and Massimo Magee on reeds. The recording gives percussion a central role in shaping the ensemble's changing density, attack and sense of space.
