Sean Ali

Sean Ali is a double bassist, improviser and composer originally from Dayton, Ohio and based in New York City. His work centres on collaborative improvisation and on extending the acoustic and material possibilities of the double bass through preparation, objects and close attention to texture.

His projects have included Natura Morta, PascAli, While We Still Have Bodies, Hag and collaborations with improvisers across New York’s experimental-music community. Ali also works across photography, video and dance, and his recordings have appeared on Creative Sources, Astral Spirits, FMR, Neither/Nor and other independent labels.
