Simon Camatta

Simon Camatta (born 1976 in Essen) is a German improvisation and jazz drummer. He studied jazz at Folkwang University of the Arts and has built a practice around free improvisation, solo drumming, interdisciplinary performance and ensemble work.

He continues to perform internationally in solo and collaborative settings and also works as a curator and organiser, including the JOE Festival in Essen. His projects regularly connect improvised music with theatre, dance and visual art.
