Tom Blancarte

Tom Blancarte is a bassist, improviser and composer from Texas whose instrumental practice pushes the double bass toward extreme timbral, rhythmic and physical territory. He studied jazz performance at the University of North Texas and later at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.

He has worked in projects including The Gate, The Home of Easy Credit, Totem, Seabrook Power Plant and the Peter Evans Ensemble, touring extensively in Europe, Japan and North America.
