Tim Perkis

Tim Perkis is an American composer, electronic musician, programmer and instrument designer whose work has helped shape live computer music. He was a member of the pioneering League of Automatic Music Composers and The Hub, ensembles that explored communication and interaction between computers as a basis for performance.

His practice combines improvised electronics, installations and the design of new musical systems. He has collaborated with Fred Frith, John Butcher, Joëlle Léandre and many other musicians, and taught at CalArts and California College of the Arts. In 2018 The Hub received a Giga-Hertz Prize recognising its contributions to electronic music.
