Tracy Lisk
Tracy Lisk is a Philadelphia-based percussionist, improviser, visual artist and curator, primarily known for her exploratory work on drum set. Her background in painting and Brazilian percussion informs a musical language balancing rhythmic detail with flowing, sometimes suspended forms.
She has studied percussion in Brazil and collaborated with musicians and artists including William Parker, Gary Hassay, Mia Zabelka, Helena Espvall and dancer Ryuzo Fukuhara. Her performances often cross the boundaries between sound, movement and visual expression. The Creative Sources release Illuminations (CS844) documents her drumming in an experimental ensemble context, adding to a practice shaped by collective invention and timbral curiosity.
